That's the one word that comes to my head right now when trying to think about what to blog.
Last night, we went to see A Comedy of Errors at the Roundhouse Theatre in Chalk Farm. It was actually really enjoyable as it was a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's original work. There was a lot of slapstick comedy in it that had the entire (decently sized) theater laughing.
After the play, a few of us stayed back and went to this pizza place near the theater, it was delicious!
During dinner we came to the scary realization that certain tube lines stop running at midnight, and it was around 11PM. We hurriedly paid for our food and raced down the stairs to the Underground. We made it onto our train in perfect time, but then missed our transfer stop. As time was running out we quickly backtracked and made our train connection at 11:53PM. We finally made it home a little after midnight.
With the time difference, I was able to talk to a few of my friends on facebook and iChat which was nice because I miss them. But unfortunately as they signed off to go eat dinner, I realized it was almost already almost 1:30AM.
I snuggled into my bed and fell asleep only to be woken up 5.5 short hours later so I could get to school earlier than usual today because 1) I don't like to be in a rush walking there and 2) I'd like to enjoy a cup of coffee from the Starbucks before class.
As nice as that all sounds, the reality of it was- I didn't leave my flat until 8:30 and got here just as class was starting. So, I don't have starbucks and I'm in pain from nearly sprinting through Regent's park to make it to class on time.
Cold.
That's another word that I can't deny.
It was the buzz among everyone how it was going to warm up today, and as I went to leave I noticed my roommate was wearing shorts and a light cardigan jacket. I opted not to bring my coat out with me today, huge mistake.
I'm sitting in the classroom my infinity scarf wrapped around my bare arms as I shiver every time a gust of wind rolls through the open window.
It's not only the classroom that's cold, our flat is also a subterranean arctic fortress 85% of the time. I long for a fleece blanket or maybe just a warm blooded puppy to cuddle with at night (Max, I'm looking at you.)
I don't mean for this post to sound complainy, but it needed to be said!
our agenda for today is class until noon and then we're heading over to the Keats House for a short, private tour and then some people from my group and I are going to this american style bar/ club/ bowling alley because it is the 4th of July after all!
Happy Fourth, Americans! :)
